Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work practices, i.e., attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Computer Proficiency in relevant Survey/cad Packages.
  • Physical Fitness Enabling Working in Underground Environment.
  • Must have a valid Tanzania driving license and able to drive a light vehicle in underground environment
  • Ensure all fired rounds are correctly recorded to monitor development trend of every active mining heading.
  • Knowledge on RTK/DGPS Base setup system
  • Able to compile information in a system that it can be retrieved and used.
  • Ensure all survey station reports, and mine stakeout plans are filed correctly.
  • Ensure all Survey stations are positioned and placed correctly as directed by the Mine Surveyor
  • Regular stock taking of survey consumables to ensure there is at least the minimum required always kept in survey store.
  • Able to Installation of Grade pins
  • Able to Installation of lasers
  • Able to Installation of stations
  • Mark-up of Holes i.e. Electric Holes, Paste Holes, Drain Holes etc.
  • Face mark-ups for development Drives and pickups.
  • Assists the Senior Mine Surveyor in any task required for the maintenance of Survey control”
  • Daily vehicle cleaning, checks and timely reporting of any defects. Liaise with Maintenance Department when reporting defects at regular service intervals.

Qualification requirements: 

• Graduate/Diploma/Certificate in Mining Survey, Land Surveying or Geomatics engineering from a recognized tertiary education institution

Skills / knowledge requirements:

  • Knowledge on basic MS Office applications – Outlook, Excel, Word etc.
  • Good Communication skills
  • Good Work Ethics

Experience and competencies needed:

  • At least two years working experience. in underground mining environment will be an added advantage.
