Job position: IT Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide services in line with the ITIL v3 (Level 3) framework, collaborate with, and assist the client in implementing these processes to support the services.
  • Install and set up computer hardware, software, networks, and applications.
  • Continuously monitor and manage systems and networks.
  • Respond to technical support inquiries from staff or clients and provide guidance on resolving issues.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system or network problems, software errors, or hardware issues.
  • Assist in the deployment of new applications.
  • Maintain a record of issues and their resolutions for future reference.
  • Offer onsite or remote IT support to clients.
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents.
  • Support, configure, and maintain LANs, WANs, network segments, and Internet/intranet systems.
  • Carry out desktop-level fixes, such as installing and upgrading software, performing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Log client requests, queries, or support calls and document their outcomes to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Review documented solutions and analyze trends to find ways to prevent recurring problems.
  • Test fixes to confirm that issues have been adequately addressed.
  • Follow up on support requests after resolution.
  • Create help sheets and knowledge base articles for end users.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education Background

  • A diploma in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a similar qualification from a recognized institution is required. ITILv3 or ITILv4 certification is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing IT support for a company with a multinational workforce is preferred.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
  • The ability to independently learn new technologies through online resources, forums, seminars, and training is important.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills are essential for effective functioning in a group environment.
  • The ability to think logically and strategically to solve complex issues is critical.
  • A methodical, organized approach to completing tasks is required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage with clients effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
