- To create drawings and designs for the production and fabrication of tools, equipment, machinery, and plant components.
- To carry out repairs and develop maintenance schedules for machinery, plants, and equipment.
- To plan, estimate, and assess the costs for work, activities, or projects.
- To prepare technical specifications and evaluate tenders for design services, consultancy, materials, plants, and equipment.
- To design general layout plans for new workshops and improvements to existing workshop facilities.

- To learn and master research methods and procedures.
- To submit regular progress reports on research projects or services undertaken.
- To assist in training professional personnel and industrialists.
- To prepare project documentation, such as research proposals and feasibility studies, as required by sponsors.

Education Background
A holder of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Energy Engineering, Textile Technology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering. The candidate must have achieved at least an Upper Second Class degree and be registered with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB) as a Graduate Engineer. Additionally, the candidate should be computer literate.
