Position: Passive Supervisor (Cable Landing Station)
Duties
- Make sure the environmental conditions are upheld in accordance with the established standards.
- Monitor the equipment status on a daily basis, conducting regular checks to ensure the proper functioning of all power equipment. Any abnormalities should be promptly documented and addressed without delay.
- Perform monthly checks to ensure all earth pits are properly maintained. If the earth resistance falls outside the acceptable range, notify the partner and ensure corrective action is taken. Any issues, such as rusted or loose connections, should be promptly documented and resolved without delay.
- Ensure that the DG (Diesel Generator) maintenance is carried out in accordance with the required standards. Regularly monitor the diesel tanks for any signs of leakage or other issues to maintain optimal performance and safety.
- Ensure that a power maintenance logbook is consistently maintained for all power equipment at the CLS (Centralized Logistics Site). This log should track and document the timely completion of preventive maintenance (PM) for all power equipment, including PEC (Power Equipment Controllers) and other related devices, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- Ensure that all essential, quick-moving passive spares are readily available at the CLS (Centralized Logistics Site) and properly maintained to prevent delays in case of equipment failures requiring spare parts replacement. Effectively manage the inventory of both installed and spare parts to ensure timely availability and efficient operations.
- Perform scheduled system routine procedures and document the results in the prescribed format.
Education Background
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field is required. Certification or training in Cable Landing Station (CLS) operations would be considered an added advantage.
- 3+ years of relevant experience managing mission-critical facilities.
- Proven experience in planning capacity management or facility design for data centers or cable landing stations is required. A strong understanding of cable landing station infrastructure components, including racks, networking equipment, cooling systems, and power distribution units, is essential.
- Strong project management skills are required to effectively plan and execute power, cooling, and firefighting system projects. A thorough knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to cable landing station design and operations is essential. The ability to apply specialized knowledge practically to solve complex problems is also a key competency for success in this role.
